I haven't seen any definitions either but I'll take liberty to make some explanation. The thickness of a client is determined by the amount of processing the downloaded web page requires from the client machine and, of course, where the processing is actually done - on the server or the client machine. For example, if you download a web page that houses an applet you can definitely say it is thick because an applet is actually an application and requires a lot of client processing. But, if you download a web page that is generated by a Servlet and comprised of only HTML tags and some scripts you can, for sure, say it is thin.
Hope that helped? srdjan ----- Original Message ----- From: "vinod kumar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, March 27, 2004 2:53 PM Subject: thick client > hi, > > anybody please explain what are these Thin Client and Thick Client.. with > examples.. > > i referred lot of materials but i could'nt get the actual definitions of > them.. > > thanks and regards, > > vinod kumar > > _________________________________________________________________ > Get an IndianOil Citibank ATM/Debit Card. > http://go.msnserver.com/IN/45534.asp Save upto 5% on your fuel expenses. > > =========================================================================== > To unsubscribe: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "signoff JSP-INTEREST". > For digest: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "set JSP-INTEREST DIGEST". > > Some relevant archives, FAQs and Forums on JSPs can be found at: > > http://java.sun.com/products/jsp > http://archives.java.sun.com/jsp-interest.html > http://forums.java.sun.com > http://www.jspinsider.com > =========================================================================== To unsubscribe: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "signoff JSP-INTEREST".
