Terry Steichen commented on JSPWIKI-268:
----------------------------------------

Andrew,

I'm heavily focused on squeezing out the possibility of bugs in 2.6.2,
so I won't be able to get into 2.8 stuff just yet. However, if you
can't reproduce it, why not just close it with that reason (presuming
that if there was a bug, it was - somehow- fixed by 2.8)? (I'm
bypassing the problem with 2.6.2 by not allowing users to change their
login name.)

BTW, on the related issue, I noted your recent comments that users want
to be able to change their login name. I understand - from the users'
perspective - the desire for that flexibility. However, I'm not aware
of any other online system that allows that - are you?

Regards,

Terry

> If a user changes their name, when you check your group memberships again,
> there are none. If you logout and then login again, the group memberships
> are restored. (However, the membership is now based on the new name.) This,
> in and of itself, is a minor annoyance. However, I believe it's related to
> JSPWIKI-267- if this is resolved so that users can not change their login
> name, then the logic that ends up changing the group membership name will
> presumably be dropped and this issue will probably disappear.
