Of course we need to store the ID's (if they're going to be the only
persistent unique identifier).  But don't we also need to have the
associated name "close by" as well (normalization notwithstanding)
because of the value in keeping things readable by humans (debugging,
etc.)?

Clarifying my comment on page authors a bit, if a user creates/edits a
page, changes his/her name, and then edits the same page some more, will
others be able to determine that this is the work of the same person?
Certainly JSPWiki knows (because of the ID), but I doubt if we're
planning to display the uuid of each author (or are we?).

<rant temperature=mild>As you know, I'm not a fan of giving users the
option to change their login names.  I don't see any real need/benefit
for that, and I think the Laws of Unintended Consequences will
eventually extract their full due.</rant>
