Perhaps it's a EOL problem? I've seen it happen on a couple of
occasions; make sure they're in the native encoding for your platform.

Yes, please! I'm really curious whether it will work for you. If so,
please tell me the way you managed it.
If not, I guess the next step would be to bug the submitter to provide
the files in the correct patch format.
