Bruno Peeters commented on JSPWIKI-489:
---------------------------------------

Siegfried, the wildcard is at the end of the string, not at the beginning. The
percentage sign (%) is not mentioned as a special character in the Apache
Lucene document you refer to. Even with the escape character (\%\%su*) there
are not results found.

> We have noticed that searching for two letter words is not possible, e.g.
> looking for "AS IS". Sometimes it could be nice if this would be possible,
> but this is not the point of this issue.
> A search for "%%sub" (or for "%%sup") results in all pages where these
> formatting instructions are used.
> A search for "su*" results in lots of pages where words starting with "su"
> appear.
> A search for "%%su*" is however unsuccessful, no pages are found, although
> there are indeed pages with %%sup en %%sub.
