Hi Ichiro,

Now that the project is truly within the Apache umbrella I really think
it's time for everyone to get with the programme -- two years is a long
time in the IT industry. We're coming up on the EOL of JDK 7 sooner rather
than later [2]:

    Version Release EOL
    JDK 5 2004 2009
    JDK 6 2006 Feb 2013
    JDK 7 2011 ?
    JDK 8 Spring 2014

the EOL column in this table is only the "end of public updates" date. With a
support contract, you are still getting updates for Java 6. Have a look at
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/eol-135779.html

Of course, two years is a long time in the IT industry, but it's not a that
long time in production server environments. And AFAIK, JSPWiki is especially
popular in these environments.

From that point of view, it's far too early to retire Java 6 support.

Regards
 Florian
