Hi Christophe, as you might know it's exactly the same in Germany.
The German translation uses Du/Toi/the familiar way at the moment. The original authors think that this reflects the original translation and the wiki nature the most. I agree with that, although it isn't be best solution for all, of course. As I mentioned, it's _exactly_ the same in Germany, all your arguments apply to Germany as well. Here, "oldtimers" also tend to a more formal way. I think it's not even a question of age but in which context the wiki is used: internal/external, how the organization/company deals with "Tu or Vous", how the effective wiki users address each other.
