Still, if you allow a LineString to be defined with two (2) identical
coordinates, what is there to distinguish a Point object from a
LineString? What is the length of that type of LineString.
Nothing except the classname and the internal structure. That's not a
problem - mathematics is full of structures which in degenerate cases
reduce to other, simpler structures. Usually it's more graceful to
simply handle the degenerate cases than to squawk and refuse to process
them.
