Hi Martin, thanks for the answer! Until now - union - seems to work as expected. But I have also difficulties to find real world OpenStreetMap examples where polyon outer shells are formed by many ways/lines (except for rivers.. but here I never get all OSM ways anyway in a tile/region-file).
