Hi Ram.

FYI JTS is planning to re-license “real soon now”; I believe that was the state 
a year ago too.  I don’t believe it’ll be ASL but it’s one that is compatible 
with ASF rules.

If you need something in the interim, consider using Spatial4j, which provides 
some capabilities of its own in addition to wrapping JTS.  Spatial4j is ASL 
licensed, and is used by Apache Lucene.
