I was wondering if the reason why they have not tried to
address this was essentially due to the possibility of network partitioning. Consider the case were WS clients can reach the registry but
the web services cannot. After the lease has expired the registry would
essentially invalidate the service and, worse still, using the subscription API, may notify
clients of the service's untimely death ;-) Is this essentially why no such feature was built into the
