Just an update...I've been playing around with generating the web service implementation from the WSDL. I've done it with both JAX-WS and Axis2. There are some quirks we'll have to discuss. But anyway, Kurt, you were right...running the wsdl code generation does in fact create all the api classes based on the preferred binding technology.
I'll be out of pocket until Monday so we can discuss next week.
