Youn?s, Yes, I agree, based on rereading some Judy code myself now (nearly five years later), you really must know the data structures and algorithms well to understand the code. I think ultimately this grows out of the fact that everything Judy does is an abstraction, with few real-world metaphors. We went around a lot during development trying to refine the core concepts and then choose good terminology. I/we worked very hard to produce the best possible C code, albeit with the decision to macroize to minimum replicated code.
Can you list a few specifics you still find puzzling? I would find it interesting to know what are your "disconnects" in understanding, and maybe I can try to explain them.
