Grails is very cool. I'd be much more likely to work with Grails then Rails (or JRuby/Rails). I like the Groovy syntax and am interested in Grails. I am not a big fan of Ruby or Rails and have little interest in either.
Still... I have a lot of clients that are comitted to JSF and/or Spring MVC and for that matter... Java the language. Crank is by no means perfect, but it does handle listings well, and forms mgmt (file upload, relationship mgmt, master/detail, etc.) If Crank grows into what Presto was (with more polish and tests), then it will be useful project for those who can't or don't want to use Grails/Groovy, which I imagine will be the bigger crowd for a while. There will be a Crank Crud JSF and a Crank Crud Spring MVC. It will be a small niche for a while. Not everybody wants to use Rails... http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=Rails+Ruby%2C+Spring+MVC%2C+JSF&l= And Grails does not seem to be widely adopted yet. http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=Grails&l= Crank Crud has a long way to go, and is not ready for a head to head comparison and wont be for a long time. My personal feeling is that Groovy won't do well in the market until it has decent Eclipse IDE support. I hope it gets it b/c I dig Groovy. It reminds me of Python but cooler. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bashar Abdul To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, August 10, 2007 12:54 PM Subject: Re: [jug-discussion] Hi guys....
