The iPhone redefines the concept of mobile phone. Features such as a
fully functional web browser, touch screen, motion sensing and GPS
combined with an iPod have excited users making it the fastest selling
smart phone in the US market. These same features make the iPhone a
fascinating development platform as these features can be combined in
ways not yet imagined.
Further, the Apple App Store creates a distributor free market for the
distribution of iPhone applications. For individual developers this
model offers the possibility of creating applications as a side
project and reaping significant rewards.
Andrew will present iPhone development from the perspective of Java
developers. Topics Include:
- Objective-C overview
- Tools used for developing iPhone applications
- Application development demonstration
- Getting Apps on the iPhone
