Hi.
I've a client who has requested "justification" for a hardware
recommendation for a pair of tomcat servers[1]. Do any of you have
any experience with this sort of voodoo? If I could convince the
client that they need to pay someone else (you?) for such a
justification, roughly how much would you charge for your services?
How would you approach (solving) the problem?
This just seems like it will cost more in man-hours than they'd
save in buying a properly (down)sized system.

[1] actually, it is the client's parent organization requesting
justification for the recommendation to purchase 2 x $5500
Intel servers.
