I had a similar problem. (Or I *have* it, since I never got it fixed; 
but it was just for a class assignment, so it wasn't that important to 
pursue.) Mine involved JButton clicks which sometimes weren't 
recognized. To get it to work right, I had to operate the buttons slowly 
and deliberately. I too was using 1.4.1 (Sun's 1.4.1_02-b06), usually 
with Netscape 7 as my browser on WinXP.
