Meeting proper starts at 6:30 p.m. with a brief talk about Bowstreet Portlet Factory for WebSphere. Then our main talk starts by 6:45. and should end by 8:30.

Some of the topics Tim will touch on are Application Profiling and Load and Stress Testing Methods and Practices. He will cover the role of tools such as Load Runner, and JProbe. Websphere version 5 performance. Identifying the performance of key business processes. How to gather and interpret PMI statistics and Garbage Collection statistics. There will be points here for users of any application server, not just WebSphere.
Tim Vanderham is currently the team leader of the WebSphere Performance Tools and Methodology Workshop. He is a frequent conference speaker. He has spoken at a Mercury Interactive Conference on Load Runner, as well as at DeveloperWorks Live and WebSphere Technical Exchange. He often speaks on J2EE features of WSAD 5, as well as on various Load and Stress testing topics.

From I-40, take Exit 280 - Davis Drive. At the end of the exit ramp, take a right (North) onto Davis Drive. Continue straight on Davis Drive for about 0.5 miles. Take a right on Cornwallis road. Go about 1/2 mile, you will cross over railroad tracks. At the IBM gate keep to the right.
If the rightmost gate is down, press on the intercom button and tell the remote guard that you are attending the WebSphere User Group meeting, and give him your name. He will open the gate for you. Go through gate, follow the road around past the first Tivoli Building, looking for signs leading to Building 500 or "Software Group." Our IBM host is Greg Ackerman.

You will see a visitors' parking lot. Turn in and park, and walk to the Building 500 lobby.
Be careful not to go too far (the second Tivoli building is too far) or you will find yourself on a one-way exit ramp and have to drive back around.
