I found a book in Amazon.com that I wished I had when I started learning Java. Its compact and covers topics from syntax through design patterns, and more. The title is Java Power Source and its like a no-nonsense survey of Java for people who want to get their arms around all the concepts without having to dig for it. I think this book will help a lot of people to decipher most of Java, minus the frustration. www.javapowersource.com/excerpts.htm has code examples, excerpts from a lot of the chapters, and the table of contents. Hovering cursor over chapters show their extended contents. In my opinion this is a handy resource that takes the mystery and complexity out of Java by putting it all in one manual. It sort of empowers students with a broad set of organized facts that are easy to lookup. Have fun with Java. |
