Java Wars May Be Over
There's been a real war waged recently over Java development platforms. IBM's adoption of the Eclipse platform was seen as a direct slap at Sun's NetBeans—and an attempt to take over the platform. Even the name—Eclipse—was meant to blot out Sun. But now, astonishingly, Sun seems ready to join Eclipse. This is good news for developers, because—lets face it—standards are good.
