I wanted to pass on a question from someone on our Mac user's group at work.
The issue is trying to get the browsers on OSX to use JRE 1.4.1 instead of
JRE 1.3.1. This is required for some of our new products for security
management. Anyone know a pure OSX solution, meaning without running
Virtual PC?

"There is not a preferences option on IE OS X like there is on Windows. IE
OS X just has the java enable checkbox -very uneventful. Unlike Windows, I
cannot find a way to force any of the 5 browsers I have install on my OS X
system to use JRE 1.4.1 (required for VMS) instead of JRE 1.3.1.

This is really starting to piss me off to be honest. The Apple Panther Java
1.4.1 Updater should update the engine on all installed browsers, but of
course it does not. Even Safari still reports Java 1.3.1 Plug-in. So, what
does the Apple Panther 1.4.1 update do if it does not change the browsers to
use 1.4.1?"
