SOAP/WSDL web services give you a standards compliant way to make your applications interoperable with other applications over the Internet. After introducing web services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), this talk covers the following standards: - JAX-RPC - SAAJ - JAXP Apache Axis, an open source implementation of JAX-RPC, is also discussed. Join us for a discussion entitled, "Web Services & J2EE 1.4" About Speaker: Michael D. Thomas started with Java in 1995. His second book, "Oracle XSQL," is on bookshelves now. He's currently writing his third book which is on J2EE web services. He develops enterprise class systems on both the J2EE and .NET platforms and specializes in design patterns, relational databases and XML.
