Hello everybody,
I just subscribe to this list and immediately have a
question :)

That's the book I used to prep for my SCJP and I recommend it highly. The sample questions in the book are VERY close in style and difficulty to the questions on the real exam. Learn what's in this book, and do well on their sample tests, and you won't have any problem on the real test. FWIW, Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates (the authors) work for Sun, and help develop the Sun certification tests. So when they say "this is what you need to know for the exam" you know they know what they're talking about.

The second one is for the exams 310-035 & 310-027.
Should I prepare both exams before I take the 310-035?

I would say no. Study for the 310-035, pass that, and then start looking at the SCJD stuff. Why risk confusing yourself by studying for the second test, before passing the first one, ya know? Especially since SCJP is a pre-req to take the SCJD test anyway...

Also, if you're not familiar with them yet, you might want
to check out the certification forums at http://salooon.javaranch.com
they're a great resource for studying for various java certifications
(not just the Sun ones, either!)

TTYL,

Phillip

Thank God we have the 2nd Amendment to tell our elected representatives that enough is enough.
It's time to put "... from my cold, dead hands" back where it belongs.
