I use JAMES. The mail list manager is quite poor. At least the version I
use (though I haven't upgraded recently) cannot handle attachments (which
means most forwards) and requires subscribers to do
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to subscribe
and unsubscribe. There is no straightforward admin interface for doing it
for them and I don't recall it going to great pains for verification.

The biggest problem with JAMES is that its based on Avalon and uses some of
Avalon's funky persistence stuff (note: the file based persistence is REALLY
poor).

If you can wait a few months I'll have list capability in the mail server
I'm writing:

http://jboss.org/developers/projects/mailservices/index.html

And we'll probably have calendar support and more to boot.

Thanks,

Andy
