Not a problem. You can use the wsadmin command-line tool to remotely install an application. Here are some links that should help you.

BTW, I heard rumors that WAS V6 will have more of a "drop it in a directory and it will deploy" kind of feel to it.

That would be nice. I hope the rumors are true. I've gotten spoiled using JBoss for development. :-)
