There was a strong turnout. The pizza was 98% consumed when I cut out of the lecture hall at 8:20 PM; 99% gone by the time I left the building.


The presentation had a lot of $5 phrases, the sort of thing I have come to expect from management consulting companies. Nonetheless there were times when I suspected the speaker had a substantive message which, in a sentence, was:
Things are looking up for Java technology and developers, especially in the timeframe 1-5 years in the future.
