Reminder...The next Tri-XML meeting is Wednesday this week. Overview of presentation- XML has become the lingua franca for communication between and within applications. Unfortunately, most modern computer languages, like SQL and Java, are not well suited to manipulating, managing or searching XML. XQuery is a data-oriented functional language suitable not only for querying XML but also managing its interactions in applications. It builds upon existing XPath and XML Schema technologies to provide a comprehensive suite of capabilities for dealing with XML. This presentation will introduce the basics of XQuery, and provide beginners with a primer for the language. It seeks to explain why you should care about XQuery, what new users may or may not care about, and what's on the horizon for the language. Speakers- Jeff Dexter and Boris Geller, both from Raining Data
