Chapel Hill-Nelson Highway Research Triangle Park, North Carolina Abstract: Lee?s discussion will involve the entire lifecycle to how Railinc determined the technologies to use, all the way down to the implementation details in event reporting to third parties via North America?s Largest VAN. Lee will demo the current application and show the devices that the application is currently being deployed on. About the Speaker: Lee Faus is currently working as an Enterprise Architect with Railinc in Cary, NC. Lee formerly worked as a consultant doing MDA work for Compuware using OptimalJ. He got his roots in architecture working at Togethersoft as a Mentor/Application Architect building plugins and teaching people UML using TogetherSoft?s ControlCenter. His experience in Java starts back in 1994-1995 when he taught Java at Athens Drive High school, supported by a parent that gave him a magical CD with OAK written on the outside. Since then, Lee has become a certified Java Architect and Trainer for Sun and has traveled the world evangelizing Java and J2EE. Lee?s new found passion is for building mobile worker applications for the Railroad industry. The application was architected using the Eclipse RCP, BroadBeam ExpressQ, MobileIP, and J2EE.
