Below is an overview of the meeting and updated directions International Association of Software Architects (IASA) Presents: 'Addressing the Technology Gap Through Planned Obsolescence' Thursday, March 17, 2005 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM Compuware 410 Blackwell St. Suite 200 Durham, North Carolina Abstract: Planned Obsolescence provides for a cost-effective and time-effective framework, as an alternative to outsourcing, as a means to address the technology gap in corporate IT staffs. This session will detail the needs, tangible benefits, tasks, measurements, and responsibilities of Planned Obsolescence. This presentation is aimed toward the IT professional and the corporate manager/executive. Mark Hutchinson is a software instructor, consultant, developer, and programmer. Mark spent the 1980s as a mainframe systems programmer, transitioning to "small iron" in 1990. Mark's served as a judge in a few of the International Software Developers competitions sponsored by Droege Computing. Mark has recently started Shunner Technologies, developing a network intrusion detection/prevention software system.
