Hey everyone- I feel like we're definitely past the point where we should be doing candidates for 1.18 on their own branch rather than just releasing trunk. The MaaS networking stuff, and the HA feature stuff is being actively integrated into trunk, and we'd probably rather not be landing those partway in something that becomes 1.18.
Does anyone have a problem with branching 1.17.7 and from their backporting small patches that we might need in a 1.18 release? I think Ian mentioned that something landed today that "needs to be in 1.18", which would need to be backported and we would need to plan a 1.17.8 release. I think we're iterating fast enough on trunk that we'll want to cut an explicit 1.18 just before a lot of the HA and MaaS stuff lands, so breaking it now for a stable series seems useful. John =:->
