Greetings Charmers, Juju Aficionados, and everyone in between. As some of you may know we've been performing an audit of the Charm Store. In doing so we've encountered some charms that we would consider to be "unkept" - the project maintainer has expressed that they will no longer be maintaining their charm, and there has been little to no community activity against the charm project on launchpad. This has prompted an internal discussion in the eco team about what to do with these charms and what the process/policy should be when handling these situations.
I've started a Google Doc to cover a few of the topics to keep in mind while addressing unkept charms during the audit, and a very basic workflow to address these items. We don't want to unpromulgate *any* charms from the store - as it directly hinders our efforts to continue growing the charm store. It's been stated that "UnPromulgation should be a burden, and only considered after every last option has been exhausted." With that being said, I want to push this topic out into the mailing list and get other opinions on the topic, and draft up a spec that we can agree on how to identify, and when action is required on a charm that appears to be fully abandoned and is of poor quality. I look forward to the responses, insights, and nailing a solid process spec.
