I'm not sure why matplotlib gives that inscrutable error...it works fine
for me (Homebrew's matplotlib). Maybe a problem with Anaconda's
matplotlib? Does the same command work in Python?
However, EPS is a vector-graphic format, like PDF or SVG. It is neither
necessary nor desirable to specify a DPI for such formats. You would
normally only give the "dpi" argument for raster formats like PNG.
