Someone who knows more about OS's will need to chime in about what you'd need 
here, but it might be worth pointing out that most people in the Julia 
community use the word kernel to refer to a mathematical concept that's not 
related to OS's. So Toivo and Dahua's code isn't related to OS's in any way.
