Are there some real life examples out there showing such a use? If so, couldn't they be replaced by types or collections of object?
Are such arrays still continguous memory segments? As others said, this is not consistent from Julia's user perspective (while it could from Julia developpers one). Although, as said, duck typing is just enough in most of the cases, the inconsistancy perception remains.
