A point of information, I tried getting julia from yum in fedora 20 but yum doesn't install julia even with the right repo loaded. I recommend building julia on Fedora19 from source, which works flawlessly and has all the shared libs that the Makefile built. On Fedora 20 I think the hold up is having the right versions of certain libraries to build julia with.
