Hmm... I'm afraid I missed something. There *is *a generic definition of 
cat available that works as expected for numeric arguments. There may be 
merit to implementing a separate version for Numbers, but at least it's not 
an issue of missing functionality. I'm not sure how I missed it! Apologies.
