Off-topic LaTeX comment:

I'm citing some of these for an extended abstract I'm submitting, and I
noticed that when I open the PDFs on my linux machine I get lots of
brightly-colored boxes around the links within the document. My
understanding is that the hyperref package adds the boxes, but many PDF
viewers don't render them.

\usepackage[hidelinks]{hyperref}

should remove the boxes, unless you want them (which apparently some people
like).

I've also in the past used:

\usepackage[bookmarks, pdfborderstyle={/S/U/W 0}]{hyperref}

but maybe that's not the current best practice [1].
