Hi all, People don't typically post just to say "good job", but I want to say that I am extremely pleased with the fast start-up time of Julia 0.3. I have delayed upgrading to Jullia 0.3 for a long time because I have been finishing an important project that really depends on Julia and I wanted to have a stable platform with zero surprises (let it never be said that Julia is not used for real work).
Now that I have time to try 0.3, the main thing that strikes me is the much faster startup time. This was my main gripe with Julia 0.2. I hope that one day libraries will also load quickly, but I am sure that that is more difficult. I am also pleased with the changes to the website (mainly the documentation browser) though at first I had trouble figuring out where the link to the Julia packages had gone. Now I found it. You might want to put that link on the main menu bar... just saying... One thing that I have not yet been able to find is a ChangeLog with all the cool 0.3 features that I don't know about yet. Could someone help me find it? I would also like to see a roadmap to see what additional improvements I can look forward to in the future. Cheers, Daniel.
