I will work for Julia Computing full time. I think it's unavoidable that trying to make a living will take at least some time from working on julia. Even in academia, there are papers, grants, classes, talks, and so on that take time away. My current guess is that our best bet is to have an independent, julia-focused company. Being successful that way is the only way we can end up actually able to work on julia full time without having to explain to anybody why we're wasting so much time :)
