in my native language we have an expression (which of course can't be

I think this shows that (unfortunately) the user base of Gtk is still low.

Which in many cases mimics a similar problem in other parts of doing system 
programming: Without user base you won't get a stable program and without a 
stable program you wouldn't get a a user base.

Regarding 0.3/0.4 I am strongly of the opinion that we should not care

Should be discussed closer to Gtk, not here.
