I was planning to test this a little bit more into detail (and then a PR should be possible).
Two things hit me: * Image.jl seems to be unstable (segfault in Pkg.build, sometime in using) * afaics the code Maurizio is using, was your example in a previous discussion -> is this a valuable test or has something changed on imwrite Is there another place where ImageCmap is used?
