mhm .. a second wiki??? dont know.. but i agree that the old one could have a better design
we may call the second one, the "JPP wiki" and make it the main-page of the JPP project.. but not for OJ in general But i think i will still make the major things like FAQ in the original OJ wiki.. since for now it is the most important and vistied Jump web-site i guess => and ukwss: nether touch a running system ;) =========== about merging the different jump projects ... =========== this a difficult task since the projects have different goals: a) deeJump is done by a company (Lat/Lon) and Ugo has not that much time to integrate his improvements into OJ.. It looks also to me that their main target platform is Windows. => we can't force them to make their things on the OJ CVS and their customers may have different needs than a normal OJ user.. further they do rely on a very stable version b) SIGLE simply works on the french version.. and they do focus mainly on Windows users (correct me if i am wrong) i am not that sure about the devel structure and how difficult it is for them to move to our cvs. I would be very glad if they could sign up for an account @ sourceforge. c) ISA have the same needs as Lat/Lon, but apply a pure plugin strategy - which might be currently the best strategy solution (concerning the time efforts) d) Pirol is a project, and has similar specifics as ISA and Lat/Lon e) VividSolutions may have their own ideas on the future did i forgot someone? main point on that listing is that the projects and companies have different needs.. thus may need functionality which are not needed by average OJ users. Further companies have the save-time issue.. Thus best general strategy is the plugin-strategy. Although a more close work with SIGLE might be possible. The plugin strategy has only one disadavantage, which is the language translation thing. I hope that we can discuss some of the future directions on that workshop in Lausanne.
