Let me try to answer your questions.
First of all, you don't have to be in the same location for mentoring, it
can be done with long-distance forms of communication.
Secondly, I enrolled OpenJUMP as a participating project under the OSGeo
Summer of Code umbrella because I am assisting Frank Wammerdam with the
administration of the Summer of Code at the OSGeo this year. I thought since
I was helping out, it would be good to get some projects for OpenJUMP in the
SoC pool at OSGeo.
Erwan,
It would be great if you would be willing to serve as a back-up or alternate
Mentor. I have added your google acount information to the "mentor" section
of the 2007 OSGeo Summer of Code application here:
