Hi, I went through my draft for the Finnish translation of OpenJUMP and while doing that I tried to test all the menu items and operations. Here is a kind of a list about my findings ordered from left to right and top to bottom as they appear in the user interface.
The File menu So far I have not realised what is actually the difference between "Load dataset from file" and "Load dataset(s)" and correspondingly "Save dataset as file" and "Save dataset as". They seem to do the same operations but I think they don't. So what is the difference? Edit menu Tooltip hints for the inactive (greyed) menu items are in English, even I think I have done the Finnish translations. I guess these tooltip hints come from "plugin.EnableCheckFactory" and translation seems not to work in German language either. Title of the dialog window "Select Items by Circle from Selected Layers" can not be translated. By the way, "Cancel" button in this dialog has no effect, the selection circle appears anyhow and Click selects items. You must select another tool to deactivate the circle. Title of "Select by type" remains also in English. "Replicate selected items" - same thing here with the title. View menu Many names for the tabs in the "Feature info" tool can not be translated. Actually only names for Geometries and Attributes can. In "Zoom to coordinate" dialog title stays as "Input" and "Cancel" button is in English as well. "Show scale" does not have a selection tag in the menu while Scale bar, Map tooltips and Zoom bar all have. Tools menu Warp - Warping If you select normal warping (not incremental) then the vectors go automatically to a layer named Warping Vectors which can not be translated. "New Affine Transformation" panel has an element named Set To Identity than can not be translated anywhere. New fine tool "Reverse Line Direction" is under Tools - Analysis - Geometric functions. It might be more easy to find if it were under Tools - Edit Geometry. "Extension manager" cannot be closed by clicking the cross on top right corner. Measure in feet -selection remains active until you select another tool while most other tools you select from the menu can also be de-selected there. Help menu Help - About - Extensions -tab cannot be translated If an error occurs in some process the error message is sent to a small window in bottom-left corner. If the message is long you cannot see it totally by any means. The text cannot be selected and you cannot make the window wider. In the editing tool selector in Options dialog and Constraints tab there is a selection for length constraint. Is it really possible to use it and insert a number in the very narrow box or is this option somehow broken? In the main toolbar tooltip hints for Undo and Redo can't be translated anywhere. When user is closing the project there is a warning text: "1 dataset has been modified" or "x datasets have been modified". The "s" for plural is added automatically which does not suit very many languages. When I checked my translation against the nightly build I found that one string in changed lately. What used to be "com.vividsolutions.jump.workbench.ui.plugin.analysis.BufferPlugIn" is now "com.vividsolutions.jump.workbench.ui.plugin.analysis.In".
