Thanks for bringing up the package name issue Ugo.

I would personally prefer that plug-ins use a package name that reflects the
domain of the plug-in developer, while additions to the core go into
packages that use the org.openjump prefix.

If this is going to cause problems than we should use Stefan's suggestion of
the org.openjump.plugin package name, although this would be my second
choice. If we go this route it definitely makes sense to keep the
org.openjump.core package around to distinguish code for the core from code
for the plug-ins.

It also sounds like the plug-in will provide what could be thought of as a
"datasource". I wonder if this would be a good opportunity to visit a
standard "datasource" interface for OpenJUMP. Perhaps we could even look
into adopting the data source interfaces in GeoTools.

This may be a little too much to bite off for a small commercial contract,
but it would be good if we could have a common data source interface that
data source driver developers could stick to. Is the current code in
JUMP/OpenJUMP suitable for this standard way to "plug-in" to data sources?

I'd be happy to discuss wether our current data source interface is
sufficient, and work on any improvements that we might want to make. I'd
also be willing to design the FeatureCache and DXF Parser to adhere to this
interface if we came up with one.
