If anyone has checked out GoogleMaps MyMaps, you'll notice the slick way they allow you to add new vertices in geometries (by providing "ghost vertices" in the middle of each segment, which as soon as they are dragged become real vertices.
This might be nifty to have in OJ, but I think it would require a "Select-For-Editing" mode, which seems a bit cumbersome (I don't think you'd want ghost vertices on *every* selected feature, or even every editable selected feature, since this would add a lot of drawing time). However, an alternative which should be easy to implement using current JUMP tools is to allow the Add Vertex tool to position the new vertex as well. The behaviour would be that a vertex would be added on the mouse press, and a subsequent mouse drag would reposition the vertex (just like the current Move Vertex tool).
