I have started work on the New Feature Documentation. I am organizing the
documentation into "topics", with most topics covering a single new feature.
Some of the topics may cover more general topics. For example, one of the
topics I am writing will be "Working With Selections On OpenJUMP's
LayerView". Each topic can be read independently of the other topics. When
we have completed a good number of topics we can combine them into a single
volume.

I will make each topic available in PDF and SLA format on the SurveyOS
SourceForge Project Web Site. (You can open SLA files with
Scribus<http://www.scribus.net/>.)
The text content of each topic will also be placed on the SurveyOS project
site in ODF format. (You can open ODF files with
OpenOffice<http://www.openoffice.org/>.)
I hope to work on the Scribus template for the New Feature Documentation
today after work.

You can track my work on the New Feature Documentation
here<http://thejumppilotproject.pbwiki.com/New%2520Features%2520Documentation>.

I also want to put together a "branding
guide<http://www.osgeo.org/files/viscom/branding/OSGeo_logo_guide.pdf>"
for the JPP and OpenJUMP, similar to what has been done for the OSGeo. I'm
not sure just yet when I will get to this.

As always, I welcome constructive criticism of my work. I also encourage
other users and developers to send me their revisions of the text content
for the topics in ODF or plain text format. If you are a user or developer
that would like to assist with the New Feature Documentation, just let me
know and I can send you the templates I am using.

The Sunburned Surveyor

P.S. - This is part of my work on OpenJUMP documentation. I've set aside an
hour on Mondays and Tuesdays to try and make some progress in this area.
