SS,

I think, as far as I can, to go on documenting the usage of some OJ tools.
I think wiki pages are almost full. I probabily will use a OpenDOC or RTF
template.
I am in flavour of Scribus, but in this moment I prefer to save the
organization of docs as much flexible as possible, which probabily PDF won't
give.
I also want to see what's the status of Uwe's documentation.
Uwe's and wiki docs could be unified, together with some old treaks from
original JUMP documentation, to have a unique complete manual. I will write to
Uwe to have more datail and to know his opinion about.

  Ciao

  Peppe,

I will try to answer your questions.

I believe most of the documentation that I have helped you with up to
this point has been documentation for the menu items. This has
definitely been short and concise documentation. I do believe there is
a place for longer, and more detailed, documentation for the use of
different OpenJUMP tools.

I think I need to kick my own butt back into gear. I will continue my
review of the menu item descriptions this afternoon. I need to
concentrate on getting that completed before I tackle any other
documentation tasks.

I think the wiki is a good place for a lot of our documentation. But
PDF has its advantages as well. If you would like to do some tools
tutorials in PDF go for it! What tools will you be using to create the
PDFs? We should come up with a "suggested" template for PDF production
if possible. If you want to use Scribus I've already got a tempalte I
can send you.

Secondly, I think we should keep text content and graphics on
different pages, as this makes layout for different languages much
easier.

Does this answer some of your questions?

In summary, I need to start working again on my review of the
documentation for the menu items. If you would like to move ahead with
some docs for tools in OpenJUMP, I will assist where I can.

The Sunburned Surveyor
