I created a sample "Google Sites" site so others could see what a wiki migration might look like:
http://sites.google.com/a/redefinedhorizons.com/openjump/Home I can see two (2) immediate challenges to using Google Sites for our wiki: [1] All people that want to edit the site must have a valid e-mail address at a private domain name like "redefinedhorizons.com". This means that I'd have to make all of the edits, or I would need to give regular wiki users like Stefan and Peppe the account user name and password so they could access the site. This will limit contributions to the wiki, but it might also control spam and maintain the quality and organization of the content. [2] I don't see a way to download a back-up file of the site. This probably wouldn't be a big deal if we only have two or three people making contributions to the wiki, as we could maintain an "off-the-net" backup.
