I never had to do that under CVS. but I personally had a couple of time problems in terms that I needed to checkout the complete project again and all local changes got (almost) lost. In this respect I never had problems with SVN. The part of his talk what sounds most appealing to me (after 20min of the talk) is actually the "every body access/has branch" thing. But we have still the advantage of not beeing 1000 kernel developers ;) so .. time to sleep.
